We welcome a wide variety of groups to Wiston Lodge – and we believe there’s no better person to tell you about the experience of coming to Wiston Lodge is like than the people who visit us. Below are just a taster of some of the groups we have welcomed and their thoughts on their time with us.
Princes Trust Team Dumfries & Galloway College
Alison and the team from Dumfries and Galloway College have been bringing their Princes Trust teams for their residential weeks for several years – now on their 30th team visit! During their 4 days with us they undergo an intensive programme of team development, trust building and self-confidence boosting through a combination of outdoor activity, creative arts activities and even some cooking time in the kitchen.

Wiston is a home from home. A safe haven where team members can challenge themselves without fear, experience new things and find their confidence. From the minute we book until we leave nothing is too much trouble.

Break Away
Break Away offer support and respite for families in Edinburgh who care for young adults with additional support needs and learning difficulties. We’ve welcomed several groups of the young people for 3-5 day stays to give their carers respite and as a holiday for them to get away from the city and try new things.

Pete was extremely calm and caring with the service users. The fantastic staff couldn't do more to accommodate us.
Break Away Care Worker
Our instructor Vicky was able to push the service users to achieve goals within the activities...the whole group supported each other whilst climbing.

Broomhouse Young Carers
We welcome the Young Carers down 2 or 3 times a year for a fun respite weekend in a quiet place to give the young people time away from their home environments and have new experiences.
We love coming to Wiston; there is such a wonderful atmosphere here and it really touches our groups.

Geeza Break
Geezabreak youth group have become firm regulars and friends of Wiston – coming several times over the last couple of years to give their parents and carers a rest and give the young people challenges and activities they wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to experience.
Wiston showed us that if you put your mind to things you can achieve them.
