Wiston Lodge - A Place To Grow
A year ago we had great fun hosting one of our reg A year ago we had great fun hosting one of our regular school groups, Forth Primary, for high and low ropes, bushcraft, and drumming. Can't wait to get back to packed activity days like this!
This weekend last year we welcomed Jack Kane Commu This weekend last year we welcomed Jack Kane Community Centre @jackkanecc a group of young people who volunteer in the community, for a residential weekend of team building. The weather was awful, but they still enjoyed low ropes, drum circle, and bushcraft with wood collection and campfire.
Enjoying looking at pictures from a year ago, when Enjoying looking at pictures from a year ago, when Thornlie Primary from Wishaw had fun and adventure focused on nature connections and resilience. Music on the Path, welly walk and waterfall climb were some of the activities packed into the overnight residential.
Tree felling on the western edge of the estate has Tree felling on the western edge of the estate has now started - this essential work is needed as the current Sitka spruce trees have reached maturity and are at risk of coming down in the next major storm. 

We have plans in place to replant the area with mixed indigenous trees to create a more sustainable woodland. Redevelopment of the area will also allow us to engage young people in tree planting and other environmental work in the coming years.

We’re very proud to say that the energy for our We’re very proud to say that the energy for our electricity now comes from 100% renewable sources. 

We have lots still to do to improve our carbon footprint but we are keen to highlight the important steps we are taking to make us a more environmentally friendly business - even in these challenging times. 

Environmental awareness and care for our natural world are key parts of our values and beliefs as a charity. It has taken us a few year to get there and we have much yet to do in other aspects of our day-to-day work, but every little helps to make sure we do our bit to protect and preserve planet earth for future generations.
