BBC Children in Need has funded the creation of an exciting new interpretive trail at Wiston Lodge, the “Path of the Little People,” as well as the purchase of associated play, educational and musical items for the trail. The trail, which emphasizes environmental, folkloric, historical and musical themes, will have numerous associated play, educational and musical items for children’s enjoyment and education.
Visiting children in need, including kids on the autistic spectrum and at-risk youth, will benefit from this ambitious and timely project, of which there are two main components: first, a short-term experiential learning component, when participants build the trail, and second, a long-term recreational component, its enjoyment.
BBC Children in Need has also funded a part-time, one-year position, a project coordinator, who will be responsible for the delivery of timely project development on the trail in its first year. This position has now been filled.
