The main house at Wiston Lodge, which is the original hunting lodge, caters for up to 47 people with a mixture of dormitories and twin/double rooms. In 2015, we installed a biomass heating system, which together with open fires and log burning stoves in some rooms, makes Wiston Lodge cosy even in the Winter.
Meals are taken communally in the Dining Room.
There are five main day rooms in the main house: the Big Lounge, Small Lounge and Quiet Room offer various capacities, all with welcoming open fires creating a homely atmosphere. Upstairs, Room 9 is a large and secluded meeting room with views over the grounds. The Games Room contains a variety of team games and is also ideal for ceilidhs, yoga and many other group activities.
We also have available a teaching classroom in the Little Lodge, and the communal timber cabin can also be hired for use by day groups.
The main house has 9 bedrooms of varying sizes sleeping between 3 and 9 people, with a total of 47 under one roof. The larger rooms are arranged dormitory style creating a communal aspect to your stay. There are three smaller rooms suitable for instructors or couples. All of the rooms have easy access to toilet and washing facilities, with a number of rooms being en-suite. One of the rooms is located on the ground floor and has disabled toilet and washing facilities.
